Terms of Service
Use of this website is bound by these terms. Material on the site — text, images, layout — is ours unless otherwise noted, and we ask that you don't reproduce it for commercial purposes without permission. Prices and product availability are current as listed but are subject to change; if a price changes between your visit and your order, the price at the moment of order confirmation is the one that applies. We may decline an order or booking at our discretion (refunded in full where money has changed hands). If we send the wrong item, damage occurs in transit, or a service falls short of what was promised, contact us and we'll put it right by repair, replacement, or refund. None of this reduces statutory consumer rights in your country.
Company details: this site is operated by Moss Blend Pathyx, roasting since 2019, founded by Haruki Nishimoto, at 〒602-8104 Kyoto, Kyoto City, Kamigyo Ward, Ukitacho, 601. Questions about your data or these terms can go to hello@mossblendpathyx.com.
Coffee changes
Green coffee is agricultural. The same farm, the same varietal, and a different harvest will taste different. We re-cup every lot and rewrite the tasting notes rather than reprinting last year's. Expect the description to move.
Beans are at their best from roughly four days to four weeks after roasting. We ship inside two days of the roast, but storage after that is on your side — keep the bag sealed and away from heat.
Availability
Single-origin lots are finite. When a lot is gone it is gone, and we will not substitute a different coffee into your order without asking you first.
Subscription changes
Skip or cancel any time before the Monday preceding a roast. After Monday the beans for your bag are already allocated and we cannot pull them back.
Governing law
Japanese law governs these terms; the Kyoto District Court is the court of first instance.
Café accounts
We supply a few cafés on standing orders. Trade pricing is confidential to each account. Cafés get the same roast-day schedule as everyone else — we do not roast a separate wholesale batch.
Changes to these terms
If the roasting schedule or the subscription mechanics change, these terms are updated. The revised text and its effective date appear on this page; continuing to use the site after that date means you accept them.
Severability
If a provision is unenforceable, it is severed and the rest remains in force. Your statutory rights as a purchaser are unaffected by anything written here.
Contact
Email reaches us faster than anything else. Moss Blend Pathyx, 〒602-8104 Kyoto, Kyoto City, Kamigyo Ward, Ukitacho, 601. Telephone +81 75-821-1441, email hello@mossblendpathyx.com. Last revised 27 July 2026.
Subscription pauses
A subscription can be paused indefinitely rather than cancelled, which keeps your grind preference and address on file. Say the word and it resumes at the next roast.
We do not charge for a paused subscription and we do not send reminders trying to restart it. If you never come back, the record is deleted after a year of inactivity.
What we stand behind
We are responsible for the roast, the labelling, and the condition of the bag when the courier takes it. If a bag was roasted badly or described wrongly, tell us and it is replaced.
We are not responsible for how coffee is stored after delivery, or for extraction at your end. Both matter enormously to the cup, and neither is something we can control from here.
Where a lot sells out mid-order we contact you rather than substituting.
Pricing and green coffee
Prices follow the green coffee market, which moves. When a lot costs materially more than the last one, the bag price changes and we say why on the roast list rather than quietly adjusting it.
We do not run discounts. The price is what the coffee costs plus what it takes to run the roastery.
